Hi, I’m Joshua Haller. I’m a photographer living and working out of the Pacific Northwest, USA.
Someone once remarked that photography is in my blood. That resonates with me. I don’t just take photos; creating photographic art is part of who I am. I capture moments, looking for what lies beneath the surface – the moods, emotions, and character of people and places.
I moved to China as a kid in 1997 and lived there until 2020. I feel a special connection to that country and its people. It was a privilege and a joy to live in Beijing for so many years. I’m grateful for the opportunities I had to take photos of people and places around China – whether it’s Tibetan pilgrims at Yarchen Ger, trips with Chinese travel magazines, hiking the Great Wall, or portraits capturing the lives of families in Beijing. I was always humbled by the different people I met in my travels around China, and the kindness I was shown. It was an honor to capture moments of their lives, and to share those moments with you.
